Design Statement

“The Black Monk” (more correctly “The Monk in Black”) is the most mystical story of created by Anton Chekhov.

The main hero, Kovrin, a philosopher, dreams about becoming equal to the most famous people of any time and nation. He dreams to point people the way to happiness. In one of the scenes he names those who disturb his imagination, who do not let him sleep and make him work day and night for many years. His brain does not survive such tension. He gets mad. And when he recovers, he suddenly realizes that he is an ordinary man. He has nothing to live for, and he dies...

But before this he names these geniuses of the mankind. They are Buddha, Mohammed and Shakespeare.

It means that worlds of each of these geniuses live inside our hero strangely interlinked with his own world and creating new spiritual universe.  Therefore in music I united and crossed different systems and cultural traditions, I used the sounds of singing Tibetan bowls, various string and wind instruments from the Near, Middle and Far East, Russian choir singing and instruments that sounded in Europe for centuries.
