The Third International Theatre Soundscore and Music Composition Exhibition

Scenofest, 2011 Prague Quadrennial

General Information:

This exhibit will represent sound design and compositional work from theatrical artists around the globe. It is open to any sound designer or theatrical composer, professional or student.   Submitted work should have been created for a live or installed presentation from June 2006 to present, including but not limited to:

Theatrical soundscores

Installation soundscores

Original music created as part of a live or installed production

Dance scores

Sound art

NOTE: this exhibit is separate from the individual country exhibits for Scenofest, the student exhibits at Scenofest,  as well as the Sound Kitchen.  If you are already contributing to those exhibits, you are still encouraged to submit different material to this exhibit.

This exhibit is designed to celebrate a broad range of audio artistry and to compliment the audio work exhibited in the individual country exhibits in Scenofest and the Schools of Scenography exhibits by including work that might not fit easily into those presentations. This exhibit will have a life beyond the timeframe of the 2011 Prague Quadrennial as it will be on-line and accessible at the Sound Working Group’s website in perpetuity.

Artists may submit up to three works for consideration/inclusion in this exhibit. Submissions can be up to five minutes in length.

Submissions may include visual content to provide context for the audio, either in the form of video or sequenced still images. Note that these submissions will be viewed as streaming content on computers and mobile devices, so quality vs bandwidth may become an issue.   We will do everything possible to keep the video quality as high as possible, but the audio quality will be our primary concern. Expect updates about this aspect as the exhibit is assembled and tested in the Spring.
